50% discount on a new Rental License, when trading in an old SOLIDWORKS License

Trading in your old License is simple and cost effective

The SOLIDX team will guide you through the process, ensuring you make the best decision for your current & future needs

If you have expired licenses of SOLIDWORKS Standard, Professional or Premium, you can now trade them in and receive a 50% discount on SOLIDWORKS rental licenses over a 3 year period & a lifetime discount of 25% from year 4 onwards!

This SOLIDWORKS “Value Upgrade” is open to any expired SOLIDWORKS CAD perpetual license, regardless of age, and offers fantastic flexibility on the new licenses you select.

Once we have identified your licenses for trade in you will sign an agreement that cancels those serial numbers.

Once you have then deactivated the licenses, they will no longer exist and can not be reinstalled.

But don’t worry, this won’t happen immediately.

You will have ample time to install and set up your new rental licenses, so you suffer zero down time.

You have the option to re-configure the set up you had by selecting the licenses you need.  Standard, Professional, Premium, or a mix of all 3.

It doesn’t matter what licenses you traded in.

You can select any level of SOLIDWORKS Rental license and receive the same discount.

Great news if you wanted to increase or decrease the SOLIDWORKS functionality you currently have.

Any license purchased on the Trade-In program will receive a lifetime discount of 25%, after the initial 3-year period is over*

This represents an incredible saving over the life of the license and allows you to move the cost of SOLIDWORKS from a capital expense, to an operational expense.

Hardware Compatibility & Stability

Each year, SOLIDWORKS fine tunes and optimises the software to take advantage of the latest developments in hardware and operating systems.

Best case, as an unsupported user, you’re missing out on these performance improvements.

Worst case, you will find yourself no longer able to upgrade your systems, as your SOLIDWORKS version becomes incompatible with other platforms, leaving you stuck the past and potentially vulnerable to external threats.

There really is no substitute to running the latest SOLIDWORKS on the latest hardware. For advice on hardware click HERE

Collaboration – With SOLIDWORKS being the most widely used professional 3D CAD system on the planet, it’s highly likely that your customers or suppliers will be using it.

Running on older versions inevitably leads to compatibility issues with your supply chain who remain up to date.

What happens, when you can no longer share files with them, in their native format?  You typically end up using intermediary file formats like STEP and IGES and losing the ability to work on the files together in sync.

Trade in Frequently asked questions

Question – I purchased my SOLIDWORKS license from another supplier.  Can I work with SOLIDX?

A – Yes. Your perpetual license is registered to your company. You can select any UK supplier to take on the maintenance for your software.

Question – Do I have to trade in all my licenses?

A – No. Just trade in as many as you need. You can always trade extra licenses at a later stage.

Question – I’m not sure of I’ve got the right level of package for my needs. What can I do?

A – You can alter your SOLIDWORKS packages when trading in. The team at SOLIDX will give you guidance on all the options.

Question – I work with other companies on different releases of the software. Can I still trade and work effectively with them

A – Yes. When you trade in a license, you have the ability to install at the latest version, as well as any earlier version, giving you control over which version you use to maintain full interoperability with your suppliers & customers.

Question – Will my current hardware support the latest release of SOLIDWORKS

A – For this, we recommend you visit the SOLIDWORKS Hardware guide HERE, or call the team @ SOLIDX and we will quickly assess your hardware suitability and advise of changes if needed.

Question – What happens after the initial discounting period is over

A – After your initial 3 year fixed discount is over, you will revert to a fixed ongoing discount of 25% for as long as you keep renewing your rental license, locking in great savings for the long term.

Question – Can I add additional licenses?

A – Yes. If you add additional licenses at the same time as you trade in your old ones, you will receive the same discount structure. If you add additional licenses at a later date, they will be purchased at the regular price.

Question – Can I cancel the rental license.

A – Yes, you can decide to cancel the rental license at the end of any fixed payment period. However, as it is a rental license, you will no longer be able to access the software and will have to access your SOLIDWORKS files through view only tools like eDrawings or other compatible packages.
