3DExperience Launcher installation blocked by network access

When installing 3DExperience SOLIDWORKS, some users will come into a looping issue when trying to install the 3DExperience Launcher.

If you need help logging into your 3DExperience account you can follow this guide (https://www.solidx.co.uk/resources/post/installing-3dexperience-solidworks/)

At the point of installing some 3DExperience applications you will be first prompted to install the 3DExperience Launcher:

Under normal circumstances the launcher file will download, and you will need to run the installation once the download has completed – it will not start automatically.

However, in some cases once you have downloaded the launcher and pressed “continue”, nothing happens, and you are stuck in a loop, as you will try to install the launcher again.

This is caused by restricted local network access in Chrome and Edge. If the connection is blocked or not granted, the launcher fails – often resulting in an infinite loop.

To resolve the issue, click on the icon in the top left corner of your browser search bar “View site information”, then enable “local network access”.

Please refresh or close and reopen your 3DExperience website. Then relaunch and continue with the installation you were trying to start.

If you continue to have problems and are a customer of SOLIDX, please contact the support team who can assist you further.
