How to Upgrade or Modify a SOLIDWORKS License

Once you’ve purchased an upgrade to your existing SOLIDWORKS license to gain higher functionality, these are the steps you’ll need to take before you can access the new features in your sessions.

Step 1

On your machine, search for Control Panel in your Windows search bar, then select Programs and Features in the menu.

Step 2

In the list of programs, locate SOLIDWORKS, and from the right click, select Change.

Upgrade or Modify SOLIDWORKS installation

This will open the SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager and show some options.

Select Modify the Individual Installation (on this computer) and click Next.

Step 3

Now it’s time to select the new package you have upgraded to. You can do this by clicking the Select different packages or products option in the top right of the window.

Select the product you now have access to, as well as the additional modules shown underneath (if applicable)

Step 4

You will now be prompted to download the additional installation files that contain the upgraded features. Once finished, got to the Tools menu in SOLIDWORKS and you will see the new functionality available in the add-ins list.
